When Masterton Trust Lands Trust called for community interest in a new public gallery in February 2016, Jane put up her hand faster than you can say 'blue-and-yellow-make-green'.
And, ConArt was born.
Jane formed a cadre of keen fellow artists to bring ConArt to life. Jane has been the driving force behind the vision of ConArt being a place - a community - where artists based in the Wairarapa can professionally promote and sell their work.
Jane was Chair of ConArt Gallery & Studios Inc. for the first 4 years and is currently the Deputy Chair.
"While studying architecture and design, I began painting to earn a few extra dollars, never imagining it would turn into a much loved career, including illustration and teaching art to adults.
I'm predominantly a Landscape painter first and foremost, but also love painting Architectural Interiors and our NZ birds, and work in both oils and watercolours.
I've had numerous solo exhibitions at venues such as the New Zealand
Academy of Fine Arts, and Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, as well as exhibiting in a variety of galleries and many group shows all over New Zealand during the past 30 years.
I’m a full time painter with commissions continuing to make up a large part of my work, and I also teach weekly classes to adults."
